"Colin Ross is a Still Life and Landscape Artist who creates compelling works that capture a unique sense of atmosphere and light. Born in the village of Lairg in 1959, he currently lives and works in the North Lanarshire town of Kilsyth.

His passion for art began at a young age which eventually led him to study part-time under the renowned Scottish painter John Boyd at the Glasgow School of Art.

Still Life painting has been an important source of inspiration to his work, which was validated when one of his still life paintings was accepted by the Royal Glasgow Institute of Fine Art exhibition and sold on the first day.

"By exploring the familiar through a creative lens, I feel that today's still life art is pushing boundaries and providing us with fresh perspectives on our daily lives.

With each new piece, it continues to challenge viewers to look more closely at the world around them. In this way, contemporary still life art is helping to broaden our understanding of the world and ourselves.

Even as the definitions and techniques used in modern day still life art continue to evolve, its ability to captivate continues to remain strong. It is this power that makes this timeless genre so captivating even today
